Two families of stone
Natural stone — granite, marble, quartzite — is cut straight from the quarry, so every slab is one of a kind. Engineered surfaces — quartz and porcelain — are made in a factory: the pattern is predictable and the properties never vary. Neither is better: natural gives you uniqueness, engineered gives you consistency.
Natural stone
- Granite
- Extremely heat-tough; its protective seal needs renewing now and then.
- Marble
- The classic veined look. Softer, and acids — lemon, vinegar — leave marks; happiest in bathrooms.
- Quartzite
- The look of marble with near-granite toughness.
We fabricate natural stone on request — just mention it in your quote notes.
